csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team was defeated by No. 35 Gustavus Adolphus College 9-0 on Saturday down at the Swanson Tennis Center.
Doubles
The No. 1 team of
Julia Maier (Hamburg, Germany/Heidberg Gymnasium) and
Madilyn Jankila (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) put up a good fight against the 10
th-ranked doubles team in the Central Region, but fell by an 8-6 margin.
Singles
The Gusties (12-6, 4-0 MIAC) won all six singles matches in straight sets.
Maier won the most games at the No. 1 spot, falling 6-3, 6-3 against eighth-ranked singles player in the region.
Up Next
The Saints (7-5, 3-3 MIAC) are back in action tomorrow (Sunday) when they host St. Olaf College up in Virginia at the Virginia Indoor Tennis and Pickleball Club. Action is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
