Notables
-A. Ledenkov scores for the second straight night
-CSS outshoots opponent for the first time in six games

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's hockey team scored a pair of second period goals and goaltender Jack Bostedt (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig HS (Minnesota Mullets-USPHL)) flirted with his third straight shutout as the Saints held off Bethel University 2-1 Saturday night at Mars Lakeview Arena to complete the weekend Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) sweep.

How it Happened
The Saints controlled the Royals (12-8-1. 5-6-1 MIAC) in the opening period with an 18-4 shot advantage, but had nothing to show for it. However, less than two minutes into the second period the Saints were able to get one past the netminder as Arkhip Ledenkov (Polotsk, Belarus/Ostroshitsko-Gorodokskaya (New York Aviators-USPHL)) scored for the second consecutive night to give CSS a 1-0 lead. Tyler Hinterser (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville HS (Brookings-NAHL)) had the assist.

With 11:32 remaining in the second period, Michael Talbot (Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS (Minot-NAHL)) made it 2-0 St. Scholastica with his seventh goal of the season. Alec Severson (Roseau, Minn./Roseau HS (Thief River Falls-SIJHL)) and Nathan Adrian (Roseau, Minn./Roseau HS (Minnesota Wilderness-NAHL)) had the assists.

CSS was in control in the third period, but had to kill-off a five-minute major penalty, which led to Bethel's first goal of the weekend to cut the lead to 2-1. The Royals pulled the goaltender for the final 1:43, but the Saints were able to hang on for the 2-1 victory.

Goaltending
Bostedt recorded 19 saves for his third straight win. Travis Allen had 31 saves for the Royals.
