OWATONNA, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team dropped its first match of the season on Saturday with an 8-1 setback to Carleton College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) action.
Doubles
The lone winners on the day for the Saints was the No. 3 team of
Ava Warren (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) and
Maya Nibbe (Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS), who won by a score of 8-6. Warren and Nibbe have won three straight doubles matches.
The No. 2 team of
Martina Garcia (Cuenca, Ecuador/Catalinas HS (Eastern Florida State College)) and
Anna Ritchie (Becker, Minn./Becker HS) dropped a close match by that same 8-6 score.
Singles
The Knights (5-0, 1-0 MIAC) would go on to win all six singles matches in straight sets.
