ASHLAND, Wis. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's hockey team traveled east on Highway 2 Wednesday evening to face Northland College in non-conference matchup and came away with a 4-0 victory over the LumberJacks.
How it Happened
After both teams struck the pipe in the first nine minutes of the game, the Saints took advantage of a power-play as
Griffen Sanom (Berkley, Mich./Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep (Hobart)) recorded his first goal as a Saint to make it 1-0.
Arkhip Ledenkov (Polotsk, Belarus/Ostroshitsko-Gorodokskaya (New York Aviators-USPHL)) and
Tyler Hinterser (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville HS (Brookings-NAHL)) had the assists.
Nathan Adrian (Roseau, Minn./Roseau HS (Minnesota Wilderness-NAHL)) scored with two minutes remaining in the opening period to make it 2-0 at the first intermission.
Less than three minutes into the second period
Alessio Raso (Montreal, Quebec/The Lawrenceville School (N.J.)) scored his first collegiate goal to extend the CSS lead to 3-0. Adrian added his second goal of the evening six minutes into the third period as
Jack Bostedt (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig HS (Minnesota Mullets-USPHL)) held the LumberJacks (4-14-3) off the scoreboard in the 4-0 St. Scholastica victory.
Goaltending
Bostedt finished with 33 saves for his second shutout of the season. Chris Curr and Viktor Wennberg combined to make 17 saves for Northland.
