SUPERIOR, Wis. (
csssaints.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Superior scored two goals in the opening three minutes of the third period to erase a 3-2 deficit and hang on to defeat the St. Scholastica men's hockey team 4-3 Wednesday night.

The Yellowjackets (12-5-2) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period until
Michael Talbot (Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS (Minot-NAHL)) scored on the power-play with 2:30 remaining to make it 2-1 at the first intermission.
Arkhip Ledenkov (Polotsk, Belarus/Ostroshitsko-Gorodokskaya (New York Aviators-USPHL)) and
Sam Fuss (Edina, Minn./Edina HS (Minot-NAHL)) had the assists.
St. Scholastica knotted things up with another power-play goal midway through the second period as
Tyler Hinterser (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville HS (Brookings-NAHL)) found the net.

Moments after the Saints killed off a power-play to start the third period, Superior tied the game with a 4-on-4 goal and then two minutes later took a 4-3 lead with both teams at full strength. With the St. Scholastica net empty late, the Saints put a pair of shots on goal, but were denied as UWS hung on for the 4-3 victory.

Jack Bostedt (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig HS (Minnesota Mullets-USPHL)) had 26 saves for the Saints, while Nick Althaus had 21 saves for the Yellowjackets.
