MANKATO, Minn. (csssaints.com) – After a scoreless first 45 minutes, the St. Scholastica men's soccer team fell behind by three goals, only to get back within one in the final 20 minutes, but came up short in a 3-2 loss at Bethany Lutheran College on Saturday.

How It Happened
The Saints outshot the Vikings (3-1, 3-1 UMAC) 11-6 in the first half, but the contest was scoreless at the half.

In the second half, Bethany got on the board in the 54th minute. Four minutes later, the Vikings made 2-0. In the 63rd minute, it became a 3-0 deficit for the Saints.

However, St. Scholastica responded as Miki Lumsden (Kingston, Jamaica/Kingston College (Lake Superior College)) made it 3-1 in the 66th minute. Lumsden then assisted Finigan Huffington (Georgetown, Cayman Islands/John Gray HS) in the 72nd minute to make it 3-2. However, the Saints could not add a third goal as they fell by a final of 3-2.

Goalkeeping
Liam Lothian (Redditch, England/RSA Academy Arrow Vale) made seven saves for the Saints, while Mason Steffen had eight saves for the Vikings.
