VIRGINIA, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team blanked Bethany Lutheran College 9-0 on Friday up at the Virginia Indoor Tennis and Pickleball Club.
Doubles
CSS dropped only one game between all three doubles matches. The No. 1 team of
Elliot Schneider (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) and
Jack Kearney (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) won 8-1.
The No. 2 tandem of
Jake Jolowsky (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) and
Rafa Gonzalez (La Libertad, El Salvador/FESA), along with the No. 3 duo of
Duke Nguyen (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy and Summit School) and
Bradley Golant (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS (Hearst-NOJHL)) each won by 8-0 margins.
Singles
Schneider remained perfect on the year with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at the No. 1 spot. Kearney rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 2 position.
The Saints did not drop a game at the No. 3, 4 and 5 spots.
Carter Anderson (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS),
Giacomo Lucchesi (Lima, Peru/Santa Maria Marianistas) and
Riley Versich (Kelly Lake, Minn./Hibbing HS (Itasca CC)) all won 6-0, 6-0.
The final winner on the day was
Reed Kolles (Otsego, Minn./Rogers HS) at the No. 6 spot by scores of 6-0, 6-1.
