DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's hockey team's time in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) is not done yet with Filimon Ledenkov's (Polotsk, Belarus/Ostroshitsko-Gorodokskaya (New York Aviators-USPHL)) game-winner in overtime to give the Saints a 5-4 victory over Concordia University Wisconsin Wednesday night in a Harris Cup quarterfinal matchup.

How it Happened
The Saints took advantage of a 5-on-3 in the first period and struck first with a Carson Rose (Surrey, British Columbia/Elgin Park Secondary (Weyburn-SJHL)) power-play goal. Sam Fuss (Edina, Minn./Edina HS (Minot-NAHL)) and Jordan Fralich (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Marshall School (Bismarck-NAHL)) had the assists. The Falcons (9-12) responded with a pair of goals four minutes apart to take 2-1 lead into the first intermission.

Two minutes into the second period, St. Scholastica tied the contest at 2-2 on a Tyler Hinterser (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville HS (Brookings-NAHL)) goal. Arkhip Ledenkov (Polotsk, Belarus/Ostroshitsko-Gorodokskaya (New York Aviators-USPHL)) and Daniel Sukhonos (Kharkiv, Ukraine/Brovary Professional Lyceum (New York Aviators-USPHL)) had the assists. F. Ledenkov then gave CSS the lead eight minutes into the second period to make it 3-2. Hinterser and Will Fisher (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS (Boston Jr. Rangers-EHL)) had the assists. Concordia made it 3-3 with a goal in the final minute of the second period.

Heading to the third period, the Saints regained the lead with an A. Ledenkov goal thanks to another assist from Hinterser. Three minutes later, the Falcons tied it once again at 4-4. The score stayed deadlocked after 60 minutes so the game went to sudden death overtime.

In overtime, St. Scholastica appeared to win the game as the puck found the net and the team came onto the ice to celebrate. Unfortunately, after a discussion by the officials, the goal was waved off due to contact with the goalie.

However, CSS was unaffected as moments later F. Ledenkov skated in on the right side and flipped a wrist shot top shelf to give the Saints the 5-4 overtime victory.

Goaltending
Nick Trenciansky (Vancouver, British Columbia/Holy Cross Regional HS (Kindersley-SJHL)) made a career-high 51 saves to keep the Saints alive. Bo Didur had 36 saves for the Falcons
