csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team began its 2021 season Sunday evening with an 8-1 setback to Luther College (Iowa).
Doubles
The Norse (1-1), who lost a close decision to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in its season opener last week, swept all three doubles matches by scores of 8-1, 8-2 and 8-2.
Singles
Senior
Elliot Schneider (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) picked up the lone victory for the Saints, winning at the No. 1 spot in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. Schneider has won each of his last three singles matches against Luther, including the last two at the No. 1 spot.
Giacomo Lucchesi (Lima, Peru/Santa Maria Marianistas) played a strong match at the No. 5 spot, but fell in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.

The Saints are next in action on Friday when they travel to take on Concordia University Wisconsin. Action is slated to begin at 3 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Tennis Club in Jackson, Wisconsin.
