NORTHFIELD, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – After playing its first five games at Mars Lakeview Arena, the St. Scholastica men's hockey team made its first road trip of the season on Saturday where fell to St. Olaf College 5-1 to split its first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) series.
How it Happened
The Oles (2-3-1, 1-1-0 MIAC) took a 1-0 lead four minutes into the game. They added another goal with less than four minutes left in the opening period to take a 2-0 lead at the first intermission.
After St. Olaf made it 3-0 with eight minutes remaining in the second period, the Saints got on the board with a power-play goal from
Arkhip Ledenkov (Polotsk, Belarus/Ostroshitsko-Gorodokskaya (New York Aviators-USPHL)). His brother,
Filimon Ledenkov (Polotsk, Belarus/Ostroshitsko-Gorodokskaya (New York Aviators-USPHL)), had the assist.
However, the Oles responded with a goal with 24 seconds left in the period to make it 4-1 at the second intermission. St. Olaf added a power-play goal in the third period to make the final 5-1.
Goaltending
Jack Bostedt (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig HS (Minnesota Mullets-USPHL)) suffered his first loss of the season, making 28 saves. Thomas Lalonde made 34 saves for the Oles.
