Two from Baseball Named Academic All-District for the Second Straight Year

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – St. Scholastica baseball seniors Aaron Weber (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Pierz HS) and Eric Pearson (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) were named to the NCAA Division III Academic All-District Baseball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced on Thursday.
 
Weber becomes the first St. Scholastica baseball player to earn multiple CoSIDA Academic All-District honors being named also 2019. The Biology (Secondary Education) Major, carried a 3.79 grade-point-average. He finished his career with 96 hits and 70 RBIs in 78 games. Both the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and D3baseball.com named him a Third Team All-Midwest Region Performer in 2019.
 
That season, Weber led the team with 53 hits and 39 RBIs, while tying for first with 37 runs. He led the team with 16 multi-hit games and had a team-high 15-game hitting streak at one point, while also reaching base safely in 30 consecutive games. Weber recorded six RBIs in nine games this season, while also having three outfield assists.
 
Pearson, an Exercise Physiology Major, carried a 3.35 grade-point-average. Pearson finished his career with the seventh-most home runs by a CSS player at 17. His 11 home runs during the 2019 season were the most by a Saint since the 2002 season.
 
Pearson was a Second Team All-Midwest Region choice of the ABCA and D3baseball.com in 2019. He registered 91 hits and 80 RBIs in 90 career games. Pearson had a home run and seven RBIs in nine games this season.
 
Weber and Pearson are now eligible for the Academic All-America Team ballot, where All-America honorees will be selected in early June.
 
The All-Academic Teams, which are selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
 
The teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA participants.
 
St. Scholastica is included in District 6 and includes NCAA Division III institutions from Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan.
