EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team kicked off its 2020 season Friday night with a 9-0 setback against the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
 
Doubles:
The Blugolds won 8-2 at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. They also won 8-0 at the No. 3 spot.
 
Singles:
Elliot Schneider (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) had the best match of the night for the Saints, taking his opponent to a third-set super-breaker at the No. 1 spot, but fell just short by scores of 6-4, 2-6, (10-8). The Blugolds took the other five singles matches in straight sets.
 
Up Next:
The Saints are back in action tomorrow (Saturday) when they head to the Twin Cities to face Macalester College.
