Women’s Basketball Welcomes Northland on Wednesday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team is back at home on Wednesday to face Northland College in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) contest.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-CSS is coming off a road loss to conference leader Bethany Lutheran College on Saturday.
-With five league games remaining, the Saints sit just half-game out of the fifth-and-final UMAC Tournament spot behind North Central University and the University of Minnesota Morris.
-CSS has already split with North Central and will host Minnesota Morris in two Saturdays.
-After this week's games, CSS' final three regular season games will be against three of the top four teams in the conference, but all three will be at home.
-In Saturday's loss to the Vikings, Bethany was 30-of-43 from the free throw line, which is the most free throws attempted against the Saints all-time and free throws made since 2006.
-Junior Kaylee Kennedy (Littlefork, Minn./Littlefork-Big Falls HS) continues to lead the Saints in scoring, averaging 17.5 points per game.
-Kennedy ranks second in the conference, averaging 19.6 points per game in UMAC play.
-Kennedy has made 92 free throws, which ranks 27th in NCAA Division III.

Record: 4-14, 2-9 UMAC
-The LumberJills will enter Wednesday's matchup on a four-game losing streak.
-Northland has not won away from Ashland since the first two games of the season.
-The 'Jills have allowed the most points per game in the conference at 83.5.
-However, they lead the UMAC in turnovers forced (24.7 per game) and turnover margin (+5.33 per game).
-The LumberJills rank 19th in NCAA Division III with 13.4 steals per game.
-Miranda Wagner averages 11.8 points per game, while Bailey Wynn, averages 11.5 points per game.
-Wynn ranks second in the conference averaging 2.6 3-pointers per game.
-Sarah Houle leads all UMAC players with 3.8 offensive rebounds per game.
