LAKEVILLE, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team was defeated by Luther College (Iowa) 7-2 on Saturday at Lifetime Fitness down in Lakeville.
 
Doubles
The No. 3 duo of Anton Sopin (Saratov, Russia/Gymnasium #8 (Tabor College)) and Duke Nguyen (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy and Summit School) earned the win by a score of 8-5.
 
Singles
Junior Elliot Schneider (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) went to a tiebreaker in each set at the No. 1 spot, but won in straight sets by scores of 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-3) for his third straight victory.
 
Sophomore Rafa Gonzalez (La Libertad, El Salvador/FESA) saw his first action of the season and forced a tiebreak in the opening set at the No. 3 spot, but suffered the defeat.

The Saints (1-4) will face Saint John's University on Tuesday down in Sartell. Action is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
