csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team will square-off against the University of Northwestern (Minn.) on Saturday in the regular season finale at the Reif Gymnasium. The Saints must win and have help to make the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-After Wednesday's results around the conference, CSS knows they need to win on Saturday to have a shot at the No. 5 seed for the UMAC Tournament.
-The Saints are chasing North Central University (Minn.), who is currently in the five spot.
-North Central hosts the University of Minnesota Morris on Saturday and if the Rams win that game, they will be the No. 5 seed regardless of the CSS outcome.
-However, if the Saints defeat Northwestern and NCU loses to Morris, the Saints will be the No. 5 seed.
-St. Scholastica is coming off a heartbreaking double overtime loss against Minnesota Morris on Saturday, where the Saints led for over 35 minutes of the 50 minutes of game play.
-It marked the first multiple overtime game the Saints have played in since December of 2002.
-CSS has dropped its last three overtime games, including two this season (at Northland College).
-Junior
Kaylee Kennedy (Littlefork, Minn./Littlefork-Big Falls HS) was 10-for-10 from the free throw line on Saturday, which was the most made three attempted without a miss by a Saint since November of 2009.
-Kennedy continues to lead the team in scoring averaging 18.1 points per game, which ranks fourth in the conference.

Karli Skog (Crosslake, Minn./Pequot Lakes HS (Jamestown)) and senior
Alison Huber (Ashland, Wis./Ashland HS (Hibbing CC)) are coming off career-high performances against Morris on Saturday.
-Skog netted 23 points, while Huber added 21 points.
-A. Huber and sister
Kaela Huber (Washburn, Wis./Ashland HS (Northland)) will be recognized on Saturday as the team's only two seniors.
What You Need to Know about Northwestern:
Record: 15-9, 11-4 UMAC
-Regardless of Saturday's outcome, the Eagles know they will be the No. 3 seed in next week's UMAC Tournament.
-Northwestern is coming off a 17-point loss at the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Wednesday.
-Prior to Wednesday's defeat, the 13-point home loss to CSS in December had been the Eagles' largest margin of defeat in UMAC play this season.
-UNW has the best defense in the league, holding opponents to just 34 percent shooting from the field.
-Kelsea Lund leads the team in scoring at 16.5 points per game.
-Lund leads the conference with 64 made 3-point field goals, making 46 percent of her 3-point attempts and 83 percent of her free throws.
-The Eagles make a conference-best 34 percent of their 3-point attempts and shoot a league-high 74 percent from the foul line.
-Rio Landers leads the team with 8.7 rebounds per game and leads the UMAC with 64 blocked shots.
-UNW leads the UMAC with 118 blocked shots. (CSS had 12 shots blocked vs. Morris on Saturday).

Series History: The Saints snapped a four-game losing streak to the Eagles earlier this season with a 13-point win down at the Ericksen Center … UNW is 3-1 in the last four meetings at The Reif, however, those three wins have been by a total of 13 points.
Looking Ahead: If the Saints win on Saturday and North Central loses, the Saints will travel to Minnesota Morris to face the Cougars in a UMAC Tournament First Round game Monday night at 7 p.m.
