HOUGHTON, Mich. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's ski team was led by sophomore
Emil Book Bratbak (Asgardstrand, Norway/Lillehammer), who finished fifth in the 10km freestyle individual start of the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Championships on Saturday.
Top Performers
Even though Book Bratbak saw his string of podium finishes snapped at four races, he extended his top-five streak to six races, coming in fifth with a time of 26:12.
The next-best CSS time was posted by junior
Ryan Steger (Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) at 27:44 to score for the team for the second time this season. Steger finished 12
th overall. Sophomore
Gus Schatzlein (Savage, Minn./Prior Lake HS) scored for the team for the first time this season, finishing 14
th with a time of 27:52.
Tamer Mische-Richter (Bloomington, Minn./John F. Kennedy HS) was the only other Saint to post a top-20 finish, placing 16
th.
Team Scores
Northern Michigan University won as a team on Saturday with 108 points. Mathias Rolid won the event with a time of 25:31. Michigan Tech University was second with 86 points and the Saints third with 74 points.

The Saints will compete in the 20km classic mass start tomorrow (Sunday) at the CCSA Championships on the Tech Trails.
