COLERAINE, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's nordic ski team was back in action on Saturday for the Saints Invitational at the Mount Itasca Winter Sports Center, which was also Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) points race.
Top Performances
Saturday's race was a 10km freestyle individual start, so skiers were racing against the time rather than each other.
Sophomore
Emil Book Bratbak (Asgardstrand, Norway/Lillehammer) led the charge for the Saints coming in fifth with a time of 28:50. That marks his third career CCSA top-five finish.
Also placing in the top 10 was junior
Tamer Mische-Richter (Bloomington, Minn./John F. Kennedy HS) in eighth place overall with a time of 29:08. The final CSS skier to score was sophomore
Bjorn Larson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS (Colorado State)), who was 16
th among CCSA skiers with a time of 30:07. That is career-best CCSA finish for Larson.
Team Points
Northern Michigan swept the top two spots with Kjetil Banerud winning the event with a time of 28:04. The Wildcats won the day as a team with 100 points. Michigan Tech University was second with 92 points and St. Scholastica third with 75 points.
