csssaints.com) – For the second consecutive day, the St. Scholastica men's soccer team fell by a 1-0 score with the University of Dubuque this victors on Sunday thanks to a PK goal in the 74
th minute.
How it Happened
Like three of the first four games this season, the Saints played a scoreless first half. The Spartans (3-1-0) put three shots on goal in the half, but
Corey Bulheller (Middleton, England/Highfields Secondary School (Bacone)) stopped them all.
Bulheller made two more saves in the second half, but the Spartans would draw a foul in the box in the 74
th minute to set up a penalty kick. Joshua Merkel would bury the PK to give Dubuque the 1-0 advantage.
The Saints would get a couple of corners in the final five minutes, but nothing came of it in the 1-0 defeat.
