DULUTH, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – Macalester College scored a pair of second half goals to defeat the St. Scholastica men's soccer team 2-0 on a windy and chilly Wednesday at Saints Field.
How it Happened
It was another scoreless first half in a CSS men's soccer game as the Saints put two shots on goal early, but to no avail.
Corey Bulheller (Middleton, England/Highfields Secondary School (Bacone)) made three saves in the first 45 minutes of play.
The Scots (1-2-3) controlled much of the action in the second half and were rewarded with a Chris Bajek goal in the 57
th minute. Then a bit of misfortune for the Saints in the 65
th minute as they were attempting to clear the ball out of their own box, but it deflected off of Max Starks and into the net to make it 2-0 Macalester.
The Saints put some pressure on late, but it wasn't enough in the 2-0 setback.
