Nolan Friday (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) recorded his first collegiate hat trick to give the St. Scholastica men's soccer team a 3-0 victory over the University of Minnesota Morris on Saturday in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action.
How it Happened
Friday got his first goal of the game in the 13
th minute as he headed in a cross from
Finigan Huffington (Georgetown, Cayman Islands/John Gray HS) to make it 1-0 Saints. That was the lone score of the first half with the Saints outshooting the Cougars (1-9, 0-1 UMAC) 15-5.
CSS extended the lead to 2-0 in the 53
rd minute with Friday putting one over the keeper from outside of the box. Just 43 seconds later Friday netted his third of the afternoon, putting home a pass from
Alex Dodd (Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) to make the final 3-0.
Corey Bulheller (Middleton, England/Highfields Secondary School (Bacone)) made two saves for his second clean sheet of the season. Lucas Harmon had eight saves in the loss for Morris.
