DULUTH, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team was defeated by St. Norbert College (Wis.) 3-1 on Sunday at Saints Field.
How it Happened
After tying Bridge Rival University of Wisconsin-Superior on Saturday, the Green Knights (5-1-1) came across the border to play the Saints for the first time in Duluth since 2003.
St. Norbert scored the lone goal of the first half on a Mitchell Scholz header. The Green Knights had an 8-4 advantage in shots in the half.
CSS fell behind 2-0 five minutes into the second half after a Max Censky goal. However, the Saints would get one back in the 73
rd minute as
Charly Anzures Catalan (Minneapolis, Minn./Cristo Rey Jesuit HS) recorded his first collegiate goal, heading in a
Finigan Huffington (Georgetown, Cayman Islands/John Gray HS) corner to make it 2-1.
Moments later
Armin Bobaric (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) just missed tying the contest off a header. Unfortunately, two minutes later the Green Knights added insurance to make it 3-1, which would be the final.
