Maggie Schley (Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) was named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Softball Player of the Year as the league announced postseason honors on Monday.

Schley gives the Saints back-to-back conference player of the year awards as
Alexa Bremer (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) earned the distinction last season. The Saints have had five UMAC Players of the Year since 2014.
Schley led the conference with 26 RBIs in league play and also finished in the top seven among league players in home runs (4), slugging percentage (.922), hits (24), batting average (.471) and on-base percentage (.526). Her numbers in the pitching circle were also impressive finishing second in the conference with seven UMAC victories, while also finishing in the top three in strikeouts (41), earned run average (1.76) and opposing batting average (.215).
Overall, she hit over .400 for the second time in her career (.423) and delivered a career-high 40 RBIs, 47 hits, including five home runs. Her 13 wins this season almost matched her total from the previous three seasons of 15. Her 89 strikeouts this year did match the last three seasons combined.
She finished with the third-highest career batting average (.412) in program history and the second-most doubles (57) in a career.
First Team All-UMAC
Joining Schley on the All-UMAC First Team were sophomore infielders
Josie Fourre (Albany, Minn./Albany HS) and
Hannah Thul (Superior, Wis./Superior HS).
Fourre earns All-UMAC honors for the first time in her career. In conference play, Fourre finished in the top five in home runs (4) and slugging percentage (.783). After hitting only .204 in 54 at-bats in her freshman season, Fourre hit .382 this year with a team-high seven home runs. At one point during the year she hit four home runs in four consecutive at-bats, tying for the second-most in NCAA Division III history.
Thul also earns All-UMAC honors for the first time in her career. She tied for the second in the conference with 19 runs scored and three triples against UMAC competition. Her eight stolen bases ranked third in league action. In total games, Thul led all UMAC players with 41 runs scored, five triples and 22 stolen bases. The 22 stolen bases are the most by a Saint in a single season since 2002.
Honorable Mention All-UMAC
Sophomore outfielder
Nicole Anders (Port Angeles, Wash./Sequim HS) and freshman pitcher/infielder
Olivia Howe (Scandia, Minn./Forest Lake HS) earned honorable mention All-UMAC accolades.
Anders tied for second in the conference with 19 runs scored and finished second with 13 stolen bases in UMAC play. Howe finished fourth in the UMAC with a 1.81 ERA in league play and tied for fifth with five victories.
UMAC All-Defensive
Schley, Fourre, Anders and
Kayla Christopherson (Zimmerman, Minn./Zimmerman HS (Itasca CC)) were also named to the UMAC All-Defensive Team. Schley is named to the team for the second consecutive season.
Other UMAC Awards
Bethany Lutheran College's Zoe Kinakin was named the UMAC Rookie of the Year. University of Wisconsin-Superior Interim Head Coach Nick Bursik was named the UMAC Coach of the Year.
