Brian Jamros announced his resignation from the position effective at the end of the academic year on Tuesday to pursue other opportunities outside of collegiate athletics.
Jamros, a Moose Lake, Minnesota native, was named St. Scholastica's Director of Athletics in June of 2017 coming from Concordia University-Portland where he served as Vice President and Director of Athletics.
"It has truly been an honor and a privilege to be a Saint and my family I will be forever grateful for this opportunity," said Jamros. "I believe that we have accomplished a lot the past couple of years and I am confident the next AD will be able to hit the ground running and take this department to new heights.
"I would like to thank President Geary, Steve Lyons and all of the other staff and faculty at CSS that provided guidance, mentorship and support to my position. I would also like to thank my colleagues in the UMAC and the NCHA for their work and dedication and CSS is proud to be associated with both leagues. Finally, thank you to the athletics staff and student-athletes at CSS, you make such an impact at CSS and I will forever cheer on the blue and gold!"
During his time at St. Scholastica, the Athletics Department recorded a 3.3 cumulative GPA in Fall 2017, while also winning its ninth consecutive Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Jerome Kruse All-Sports Trophy for the 2017-2018 athletic season.
For the first time, St. Scholastica played host to a NCAA postseason event when the 2018 Midwest Baseball Regional took place at Wade Stadium. Jamros was also able to secure a record number of corporate partners and set standardized practice times for the varsity athletic teams. He recently hired the school's first-ever full-time Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach and was named to the NCAA Division III Championships Committee.
"Brian has been an outstanding leader for our Athletic Department and for The College of St. Scholastica," said Vice President of Student Affairs Steve Lyons. "We wish him and his family well as they move on and are appreciative of the dedication and service he has provided over the last two years!"
A national search will begin immediately to find Jamros' successor.
