csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team took part in the Ashton May Invitational on Saturday, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Foss Sets Steeplechase Record
After winning last week,
Easton Foss (Pine City, Minn./Pine City HS) was runner-up in the 3000m steeplechase on Saturday finishing three seconds back of the winner with a school-record time of 9:26.83. That time ranks 23rd in NCAA Division III.
Other Top Performances
In his first track & field meet of the year, sophomore
Ryan Steger (Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) placed fourth in the 800m run, posting a time of 1:57.04.
Nick Carlson (Canyon, Minn./South Ridge HS) placed seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 40'11.5" (12.48m). He was also 13
th in the long jump with a leap of 19'11" (6.07m).
Joe Guimond (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) was 10
th in the javelin throw with a toss of 129'9" (39.54m).
Frank Cerar (Plainview, Minn./Plainview-Elgin-Millville HS) was 12
th in the high jump, clearing 5'8" (1.73m).
Up Next
The Saints will be at the Lee Krough Invitational next Saturday, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College. Action is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
