KISSIMMEE, Fla. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team concluded its Spring Break trip with a 7-2 victory over Curry College (Mass.) Wednesday morning.
Doubles
The Saints swept all three doubles matches from the Colonels (0-3). The No. 1 team of
Serhii Tykhonenko (Kiev, Ukraine/Lyceum #100 "Podil") and
Rafa Gonzalez (La Libertad, El Salvador/FESA) won 8-2. The No. 2 team of
Connor Croft (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) and
Duke Nguyen (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy and Summit School) won 8-6 for Croft's first win of the season and Nguyen's first collegiate victory. That was the same winning score for the No. 3 team of
Nick Wlodyga (Baldwin, Wis./Baldwin-Woodville HS) and
CJ Howard (Becker, Minn./Becker HS) for their first collegiate wins.
Singles
Elliot Schneider (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) won his 10
th straight singles match with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at the No. 1 spot.
Jake Jolowsky (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) prevailed at the No. 3 spot 6-1, 6-4.
Caleb Thill (Altoona, Wis./Altoona HS) at the No. 5 spot and
Elliot Kazlauskas (New Prague, Minn./New Prague HS) at the No. 6 spot each earned their first wins of the season with Thill prevailing 6-2, 6-3 and Kazlauskas winning 6-2, 7-6 (7-5).
