csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's tennis team blanked North Central University (Minn.) 9-0 Friday evening to open Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action.
Doubles
The No. 1 doubles team of
Connor Croft (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) and
Duke Nguyen (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy and Summit School) won 8-0. Both the No. 2 team of
Reed Kolles (Otsego, Minn./Rogers HS) and
Caleb Thill (Altoona, Wis./Altoona HS) and the No. 3 team of
CJ Howard (Becker, Minn./Becker HS) and
Nick Wlodyga (Baldwin, Wis./Baldwin-Woodville HS) won by an 8-2 margin.
Singles
Croft at No. 1, Nguyen at No. 4, Wlodyga at the No. 6 spot did not drop a game in their singles matches, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Kolles won at the No. 2 position 6-0, 6-2. Thill prevailed 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 and finally Howard won 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 5 spot.
