What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-With their latest win over Finlandia University (Mich.), the Saints extended their win streak to a season-high five games.
-Also, with other results around the league, the Saints clinched a UMAC Tournament spot.
-Since these two teams met in St. Paul, the Saints have gone 6-1 in conference play only losing to Bethany Lutheran College, who is a game ahead of them in the standings.
-CSS is 8-2 in their last 10 games.
-The last time these two teams met the Saints led by 15 points at halftime, but were out-scored 50-29 in the second half.
-Senior
Brandon Newman (Barnum, Minn./Barnum HS) went for 20-5-4, while junior
Collin Anderson (Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) also added 19 points including 5-for-10 shooting from three.
-Newman and Anderson lead the team in scoring with 16.0 and 15.8 points per game, respectively.
-Anderson needs 39 points to reach 1,000 for his career.
-Newman is fourth in the UMAC with 3.7 assists per game. He also ranks third with a 2.1 assist-turnover ratio.
-Newman has made 112 free throws this season, which matches his career-high. He is 17 shy of the single-season program record.
-The Saints rank second in the conference with a free throw percentage of 76.4 percent
-The Saints have a tough remaining schedule, facing the league's first-place team Saturday and then the two teams directly behind them next week to close out the regular season.
-The Saints are 6-2 at home this season.
What You Need to Know about Northwestern:
Record: 16-6, 12-1 UMAC
-The Eagles will be coming into Duluth flying high, riding a 10-game win streak, all in conference play.
-Northwestern's win streak came after losing 3-of-4, including their only conference loss this season to Crown College.
-Their last loss was a 121-109 loss to Pacific College on December 29.
-In their streak the Eagles haven't scored less than 80 points are averaging 92.2 points-per-game.
-Historically, Northwestern has been known for taking care of the basketball and that reigns true this year as it leads the conference and ranks ninth in NCAA Division III in fewest turnovers per game (10.1).
-The Eagles rank third in the nation with a 1.78 team assist-to-turnover ratio.
-UNW has six players that average in double-figures in scoring.
-They are led by Tanner Youngberg, who averages 13.9 points per game and leads the conference with 10.1 rebounds per game.
-Youngberg has 11 double-doubles this season.
