A Pair of Top-10s for Men’s Skiers on Day One of CCSAs

RESULTS

MINNEAPOLIS (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's ski team had two skiers place in the top 10 and finished five points behind second-place Michigan Tech University for third place Saturday in the 20km classic mass start of the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Championships as part of the Mayor's Challenge at Wirth Park.
 
Top Performers
Freshman Emil Book Bratbak (Lillehammer, Norway/Lillehammer) led the way for the Saints, placing 22nd overall and seventh among CCSA skiers with a time of 57:17. Sophomore Tamer Mische-Richter (Bloomington, Minn./John F. Kennedy HS) was the next Saint to score in 27th place overall (10th in the CCSA) posting a time of 58:07. Freshman Nick Matelich (Bozeman, Mont./Bozeman HS (Montana State)) was the final Saint to score in 29th overall (12th in the CCSA) with a finishing time of 58:32.
 
Team Scores
Northern Michigan University swept the top three spots among CCSA skiers to win the day. NMU skier Zak Ketterson won the overall race with a time of 54:08. Michigan Tech was second with 81 points and the Saints third with 76 points.
 
Up Next
The CCSA Championships conclude on Sunday with the 10km skate race beginning at 10 a.m.
