Women’s Basketball Begins UMAC Play this Week

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team returns home for the first time since November 8 and will host a pair of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) games this week.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints are coming off a 20-point loss at Finlandia University (Mich.) on Tuesday.
-CSS will enter Wednesday's game on a four-game losing skid.
-Junior Kaylee Kennedy (Littlefork, Minn./Littlefork-Big Falls HS) has averaged 22.5 points per game in the last two games.
-Kennedy is the only Saint to have scored in double-figures in all six games this season.
-Kennedy leads the UMAC with 27 made free throws.
-The Saints have been without starting point guard Alison Huber (Ashland, Wis./Ashland HS (Hibbing CC)) each of the last three games.

-The Rams have wins over Mount Mary University (Wis.) and Waldorf University (Iowa).
-NCU leads the conference in 3-pointers made (47), attempted (143) and 3-pointers per game (9.4).
-Naomi Hagstrom leads the team in scoring at 15.6 points per game.
-Hagstrom was the UMAC Rookie of the Year last season.
-Emily DiGiorgio has a team-high 6.2 rebounds per game.
-Allison Bulthuis averages 2.4, 3-point field goals per game.
-NCU was picked sixth in the UMAC preseason coaches' poll.
 
Series Record: CSS leads 32-2 (Last Meeting: 76-59 NCU – 1/23/2019)
 
Series History: The Rams won their first-ever game at the Reif last January with a convincing 17-point victory … That win snapped a 15-game win streak for the Saints in the series.

-The Storm have wins over Silver Lake College (Wis.) and Alverno College (Wis.) thus far.
-Crown will open conference play on Wednesday at the University of Northwestern (Minn.).
-Dominique Urbina I averaging a team-best 11.3 points per game
-Patricia Gibson has a team-best 7.8 rebounds per game.
-The Storm are making just 58 percent of their first free throw attempts, which is the worst in the conference.
-Crown was picked ninth in the UMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
