MOORHEAD, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's basketball team got 34 points from Collin Anderson (Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS), but it wasn't enough as Concordia College-Moorhead outlasted the Saints 82-77 on Saturday at the Memorial Auditorium.

How It Happened
Concordia (2-2) would come out with a quick four-point lead to start out the game before Anderson would get fouled and put in two free throws to get the Saints on the board. Another bucket by the Cobbers would put them up 7-2 a minute and a half into the game. A 10-0 run by the Saints would be sparked when Anderson hit a three to bring the score back within two at 7-5. A free throw by Jarod Wilken (Annandale, Minn./Annandale HS) and another three by Anderson would put the Saints up 9-7.

CSS would lead by a small margin for much of the first half and back-to-back 3-pointers by Anderson gave the Saints six-point lead with just over a minute to go. St. Scholastica would go into half time with a 39-35 lead. Anderson was 5-of-7 from beyond the arc in the first half.

The Saints led by as much as seven early in the second half, but Concordia would score a quick five points to bring the score within four once again at 46-42. Four lead changes would occur within one minute with Concordia holding the lead at 56-53. A long offensive drought would occur for the next two minutes before Jack Silgen (Crosby, Minn./Crosby-Ironton HS (St. Thomas)) would get a nice righty layup in to bring the Concordia lead down to 56-55.

Once again, both teams would trade buckets with the Cobbers lead only getting to six points for the remainder of the game. With four and a half minutes remaining in the game the Saints would go on a six-point mini run sparked by a Nick Carlson (Canyon, Minn./South Ridge HS) layup to tie the game up with three and a half minutes left in the game.

Concordia would get its lead back up to three before another Anderson three would tie the game up with just over two minutes left in the game. The Cobbers would go up four points with just under a minute remaining. A Chance Larson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) dunk cut the margin to two and following 1-of-2 Cobber free throws, a three pointer was put up by Anderson in the final 10 seconds, but would not drop. The Saints would fall 82-77.
