DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica football team will honor its 10 seniors on Saturday as it welcomes MacMurray College (Ill.) to Public Schools Stadium for the season finale.

What You Need to Know about St. Scholastica: 
-The Saints have already eclipsed their 2018 win total with last week's victory at the University of Minnesota Morris.
-A win on Saturday will clinch third place for the Saints in the conference, while a loss would put them in a tie for third with MacMurray.
-This is the third straight year the Saints and Highlanders are playing in the regular season finale and have battled for second or third each time.
-CSS displayed another big offensive game with 439 total yards against Minnesota Morris last weekend.
-With yet another defensive touchdown, CSS now has four on the season and ranks fifth in all of NCAA Division III.
-The four defensive TDs are tied for the most in a single season since 2009.
-The Saints average 320.2 passing yards per game, that ranks first in the UMAC and 14th nationally.
-The Saints lead NCAA Division III with 17 fumbles recovered.
-They also ranked third nationally in total turnovers gained with 28.
-CSS leads the conference in turnover margin, gaining one turnover per game. The turnovers gained (+9) is good for 22nd in Division III.
-In the last two meetings with MacMurray, CSS is -6 in turnover margin.
 
Players to Watch on Offense: 
-Quarterback Zach Edwards (St. Paul, Minn./Henry Sibley HS) – Edwards will play his final game in his historic CSS career. Edwards will look to make his final marks in the CSS record books. Putting his final touch on many career records, including: his 8,745 passing yards, 89 touchdowns, 665 completions and many more. He has been responsible for 99 touchdowns in his career. He became just the second Saint to throw for at least 30 touchdowns in a season last week. Edwards leads the nation averaging 27.7 completions per game.
-Wide receiver Eddie Lee (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) – Lee, also in his final game of his CSS career, heads into it with a program record 131 career receptions and fourth all time with 1609 career receiving yards.
-Wide receiver Reese Jansen (Eden Valley, Minn./Eden Valley-Watkins HS) – Jansen will also play his final game in a CSS uniform on Saturday as the junior plans to graduate in the spring. Jansen, who burst onto the scene in 2019, has emerged as a deep threat this season. Jansen with only 34 receptions has gone for 657 yards (19.32 YPC) and eight scores.
-Wide Receiver Mitchell Adrian (Altoona, Wis./Altoona HS) – Adrian also coming onto the scene in his sophomore season will break 100 receptions with one catch on Saturday. He is only reception behind Lee with 130 career catches. He leads the nation averaging 10.9 receptions per game. He has racked up 833 yards and 11 touchdowns.
 
Players to Watch on Defense: 
-Linebacker Eric Soderberg (Cohasset, Minn./Grand Rapids HS) – Soderberg has led the Saints with a program-record 124 tackles in his senior season, including 9.5 tackles for loss and one sack and two interceptions. Soderberg ranks second in NCAA Division III, averaging 13.8 tackles per game.
-Defensive Lineman Cal Germain (Osceola, Wis./Osceola HS) – Germain leads CSS with five sacks, he added 7.5 tackles for loss and 63 tackles in his final season.  Germain ranks fourth all-time in CSS history with 137 assisted tackles.
-Defensive Back Will Halloran (Belle Plaine, Minn./New Prague HS) – Halloran in his senior year leads all Saints with six pass breakups. He added a game-winning interception, 36 tackles including four for a loss and a sack. He ranks third all-time with 25 career pass breakups.
 
Upcoming Opponent: 
MacMurray Highlanders:
Record: 4-5, 4-3 UMAC

What You Need to Know about MacMurray:
-The Highlanders, like the Saints, can finish no higher than third in the UMAC Standings.
-MacMurray lost to Greenville and Martin Luther as well. Their third loss was to Westminster College (Mo.).
-Similar to the last three CSS opponents, MacMurray doesn't give up free yards. They lead the UMAC with the fewest penalties per game (4.56).
-The Highlanders trail only CSS for the best passing attack in the UMAC averaging 301.8 yards per contest.
-Junior Bobby Tedesco runs the offense for MacMurray. Tedesco has 165 completions for 2,390 yards and 26 touchdowns. He's also rushed for 485 yards on 96 attempts and three scores. He leads all UMAC quarterbacks in rushing.
-Tedesco's main target is senior Demetrius Curry. Curry has hauled in 47 grabs for 1,054 yards and 14 touchdowns.
-Curry ranks ninth in country in receiving touchdowns and 12th in the nation, averaging 22.4 yards per reception.
-Sophomore Ethan Downs is the lead back for the Highlanders. Downs has 111 carries and 401 yards with five scores.
-The Highlander defense had forced six turnovers in the last two meetings with the Saints and has four defensive or special teams touchdowns in those games.
-Ahmad Washington is ranked second in the conference with 117 tackles.
-MacMurray leads the UMAC and is 29th in NCAA Division III with five blocked kicks.
 
Series Record: CSS leads 7-2 (Last Meeting: MAC 34-20 – 11/10/2018) 
 
Series History: CSS won the first seven meetings between the two squads. Though the last two meetings have gone too MacMurray as the Highlanders have scored 34 points in each of those wins. When the two teams last met in Duluth, the game featured an interception return for a TD, a blocked punt for a TD, a kickoff return for a touchdown, a fumble return for a TD and a safety. The Highlanders are looking to become just the second UMAC program (Martin Luther) to win three straight games against the Saints.
