Finigan Huffington (Georgetown, Cayman Islands/John Gray HS) scored the equalizer in the 66
th minute, but the University of St. Thomas scored just over a minute later as the Tommies defeated the St. Scholastica men's soccer team 3-1 on Sunday.
How it Happened
The Saints were held to just three shots on the day with Huffington attempting two of those shots. The Tommies (9-3-3) took a 1-0 lead into halftime following a goal six minutes into the contest.
Huffington then was able to use some nice ball skills to weave thru defenders and ultimately beat the goalkeeper far post in the 66
th minute to tie the contest at 1-1.
However, St. Thomas regained the lead 77 seconds later with a strike from the top of the box into the top right corner of the net to make it 2-1. The Tommies added another goal in the 78
th minute to make the final score 3-1.
Corey Bulheller (Middleton, England/Highfields Secondary School (Bacone)) made six saves for the Saints.
