Men’s Soccer to Host MLC Friday for Senior Day; Hamline Sunday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team returns to Saints Field on Friday to face Martin Luther College in a conference matchup. It was will also be Senior Day as the program will honor its four seniors. CSS will then host Hamline University on Sunday in a non-conference contest.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-Seniors being recognized on Friday will be Corey Bulheller (Middleton, England/Highfields Secondary School (Bacone)), Malcolm Lumsden (Kingston, Jamaica/Kingston College (Lake Superior College)), Armin Bobaric (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) and Ethan Kiffmeyer (Sartell, Minn./Sartell HS).
-The Saints are coming off a 5-1 victory on Wednesday at Crown College.
-The game was tied 1-1 at halftime until the Saints exploded for four goals in the second half.
-Freshman William Francis (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) has seven points in the last two league games on three goals and an assist.
-Junior Alex Dodd (Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) has at least one assist in four of the five conference games.
-Bulheller has three shutouts in league games thus far.
-CSS has only three conference games remaining and is one of three teams with one league loss.
-Northwestern is one which was by the Saints and the other is Bethany Lutheran College, who the Saints won't see until October 26.
-On Sunday, the Saints will be in search of their first non-conference win of the season.

Record: 3-8-2, 1-2-0 UMAC
-The Knights enter Friday's contest on a three-game winless streak.
-MLC tied Crown on October 2, lost in overtime to conference leader University of Wisconsin-Superior on Saturday and then fell Wednesday night 7-0 to rival Bethany Lutheran.
-Martin Luther is led by Joe Graumann with a team-high six goals and 15 points.
-Lucas Martin has a team-best five assists.
-MLC ranks 12th in NCAA Division III averaging 8.77 saves per game.
 
Series Record: CSS leads 35-10-0 (Last Meeting: 4-1 MLC – 10/31/2018)
 
Series History: The Saints had a 21-game win streak snapped against the Knights with a 4-3 setback last year in New Ulm. CSS returned the favor with a 4-1 victory in the UMAC Tournament semifinals. The Saints are 22-1 all-time at home against the Knights.
 
What You Need to Know about Hamline
Record: 3-5-1, 1-3-0 MIAC
-The Pipers will have eight games since they last played when they travel to take on the Saints on Sunday.
-Hamline is coming off a 4-2 loss to Concordia College-Moorhead last Saturday.
-The Pipers won its first two games of the season, but are 1-5-1 since.
-They have also played only one home game since September 8.
-Logan Weller leads the team with seven goals and 14 points.
-Adam King has a team-best three assists.
-Goalkeeper Malachy Zamacona has two shutouts on the year.

Series History: The Saints have won the last three meetings with the Pipers with two of those games happening at Saints Field.
