DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team meets its conference rival from across the bridge Wednesday as the University of Wisconsin-Superior visits Saints Field for a Bridge Battle Showdown.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints are off to a 2-0 start in league play with shutout victories over North Central University (Minn.) and the University of Minnesota Morris.
-With conference teams playing each other only once, stakes are high for Wednesday's contest.
-Sophomore Nolan Friday (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) was named the UMAC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after recording his first collegiate hat trick in Saturday's win at Morris.
-Friday leads the team with five goals and 11 points, while also recording the game-winning goals in both victories.
-Finigan Huffington (Georgetown, Cayman Islands/John Gray HS) leads the team four assists.
-Senior Armin Bobaric (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) needs three more points for 50 in his career.
-Senior goalkeeper Corey Bulheller (Middleton, England/Highfields Secondary School (Bacone)) leads the conference with two shutouts this season.
-CSS has scored the same amount of goals as its opponents in the first half of games this season (4-4), but have allowed 19 goals in the second half.

Record: 5-2-2, 1-0 UMAC
-The Yellowjackets snapped a three-game winless streak with a convincing 12-1 triumph over Northland College on Sunday in its conference opener.
-The reigning UMAC Champions and preseason conference favorite 'jackets have beaten Macalester College and tied both St. Norbert College (Wis.) and Concordia College-Moorhead, teams the Saints have been defeated by this season.
-UWS is ranked No. 6 in North Region by the United Soccer Coaches.
-The Yellowjackets rank 14th in NCAA Division III, averaging 3.3 goals per game.
-Blake Perry leads the team and ranks second in the conference with seven goals.
-Eric Watson is right on his heels with six goals.
-Goalkeeper Dalton VanKaenal has one shutout and ranks third in the conference with a 1.57 goals-against-average.  
 
Series Record: CSS leads 14-7-6 (Last Meeting: 3-1 UWS – 11/3/2018)
 
Series History: The Yellowjackets won the final two meetings against the Saints last year, including the UMAC Tournament title game … CSS is 0-1-3 in the last four meetings with UWS in Duluth.
