Men’s Skiing Finishes Second in Rhinelander Freestyle

RESULTS

RHINELANDER, Wis. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's ski team had four skiers place in the top 10 as it wrapped up action at the CAVOC Trails on Sunday with a second place team finish in the 10km individual freestyle.
 
Top Performers
Freshman Emil Book Bratbak (Lillehammer, Norway/Lillehammer) led the Saints with a fourth-place finish overall in a time of 26:16. Sophomore Tamer Mische-Richter (Bloomington, Minn./John F. Kennedy HS) was sixth overall in a time of 26:40. The final Saint to score was freshman Nick Matelich (Bozeman, Mont./Bozeman HS (Montana State)) in seventh with a time of 26:47. Freshman Hannes Stenstrom (Are, Sweden/Are Skidgymnasium) also finished in the top 10, placing 10th.
 
Both Book Bratbak and Matelich scored for the Saints in both races this weekend.
 
Team Finishes
Michigan Tech University won the event with 108 points as it had the top two collegiate finishers in the field. The Huskies' Patrick Action finished second overall, but was the top CCSA finisher in a time of 26:06.
 
The Saints were second with 90 points. Saturday's team winner, Northern Michigan University, did not compete on Sunday.
 
Up Next
The Saints are back in Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) next weekend with the Northern Michigan Qualifier at the Al Quaal Recreation Area.
