NORTHFIELD, Minn. (
csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica men's soccer team lost 2-1 in overtime to Carleton College Tuesday after an early 1-0 lead for the Saints crumbled in the second half.
The Action
Alex Dodd (Lakeville, Minn./Burnsville HS) got things started for the Saints with an early goal in the eighth minute. Dodd's first goal of the season put the Saints up 1-0. During the rest of the half, the Saints and the Knights fought a hard battle. Carleton out-shot St. Scholastica 12-4, but CSS' lead of 1-0 carried over into the second half.
The game was evenly matched until 25 minutes into the second half. Carleton headed the ball off of the cross and over the keeper, tying the game up 1-1. Both teams fought to break the 1-1 tie. The teams were unable to score and the game was sent into overtime.
Eight minutes into the first overtime and on the first shot, Carleton was able to score off a cross to win the game.

Darby Henderson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) and
Nolan Friday (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) each had two.
St. Scholastica's
Nicholas Semaan (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Marshall School) saved eight of 10 shots in his first collegiate debut. Carleton's Aaron Forman stopped three out of four shots he faced.
