ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team held on to defeat Crown College 2-1 Wednesday night in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opener behind goals from Finigan Huffington (Georgetown, Cayman Islands/John Gray HS) and Darby Henderson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS).

How it Happened
The Saints struck for the lone goal of the first half when Huffington recorded his first collegiate goal in the 27th minute. Shots in the first half were 13-7 in favor of the CSS, however, the Storm (0-5-0, 0-1-0 UMAC) had more shots on goal than the Saints at 4-2.

St. Scholastica added insurance in the 69th minute when Darby Henderson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) scored his first goal of the season to make it 2-0. However, Crown made it interesting in the 79th minute with a tally from Storm Heyer to cut the margin in half. The Storm would get a header attempt off a corner in the final 10 minutes, but the shot was off target and the Saints would prevail 2-1.

Goalkeeping
Corey Bulheller (Middleton, England/Highfields Secondary School (Bacone)) made four saves in the win for the Saints. Eli Etzel had six saves in the loss for the Storm.
