DAY ONE RESULTS
DULUTH, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team won two event titles and lead after day one of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Outdoor Championships on Friday at Malosky Stadium.
Event Champions
Sammi Argir (Chisholm, Minn./Hibbing HS) won the 200m dash title with a time of 27.18. It was the second consecutive 200m title for Argir and the third of her career.
Natalie St. Marie (St. Francis, Minn./St. Francis HS) won the hammer throw title for the second consecutive year with a season-best mark of 153'2" (46.70m).
Other Top Performances
Argir was also runner-up in the long jump with a program record leap of 17'8" (5.38m). That record had stood since the 2013 season.
Breanna Shofner (International Falls, Minn./Falls HS) was third with a personal-best mark of 17'7" (5.36m).
Anika Kling (Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS) was fifth at a personal-best 16'8" (5.08m).
Kling was third in the 200m dash with a time of 27:47 and Shofner was behind her in fourth with a time of 28.13. Kling posted the fastest time in the 100m prelims clocking at a personal-best 12.63. Argir was second at 12.69.
Casey Hovland (North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS) was runner-up in the 800m run finishing in a personal-best time of 2:23.13.
Aria Plewa (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) was fifth in that event, posting a time of 2:26.91.

Liana Blomgren (Mountain Lake, Minn./Mountain Lake HS),
Katelynn Gullickson (Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul HS) and
Emily Namyst (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) was third with a time of 10:39.44.
