DAY ONE RESULTS
DULUTH, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team took part in the first day of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Outdoor Championships on Friday at Malosky Stadium.
Event Champions
Frank Cerar (Plainview, Minn./Plainview-Elgin-Millville HS) won the pole vault title for the first time in his career as he edged last year's champion and teammate
Wyatt Helgeson (International Falls, Minn./Falls HS) by taking fewer attempts to clear the same height. Both Cerar and Helgeson cleared 12'11.5" (3.95m). For Cerar that was an outdoor personal-best height and matched his personal-best indoor height.
Other Top Performances
Ryan Steger (Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) was runner-up in the 800m run with a time of 1:59.16.
Joe Guimond (Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) placed third in the javelin with a season-best throw of 135'0" (41.15m).
Cerar was fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.91.
Donovan Blatz (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 19'11.5" (6.08m).
The 4x800m relay team of
Isaac Boedigheimer (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS),
Cameron Pearson (Park Falls, Wis./Chequamegon HS),
McEwan Rodefeld (Blaine, Minn./Irondale HS) and
Izaak Juenemann (Eyota, Minn./Dover-Eyota HS) was third with a time of 8:37.83.
