DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica men's tennis team was victorious over the University of Minnesota Morris on Sunday afternoon, sweeping the Cougars 9-0 at the Duluth Indoor Sports Center.
Doubles
The Saints won all three doubles matches without dropping a single game in any of the three matches. Playing in the No. 1 spot was Serhii Tykhonenko (Kiev, Ukraine/Lyceum #100 "Podil") and Bryce Gadke (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield HS). The No. 2 teams was made up of Jake Jolowsky (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) and Jason Kent (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Altoona (Wis.) HS), followed by Connor Croft (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) and Elliot Kazlauskas (New Prague, Minn./New Prague HS) in the No. 3 spot.
Singles
CSS won all six singles matches in straight sets. Elliot Schneider (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) played in the No. 1 spot and won 6-2, 6-1 for his fifth straight singles match victory. Trace Combs (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) won 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 2 spot for the Saints.
In the No. 3 spot was Jack Kearney (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) with a 6-1, 6-1 win. Caleb Thill (Altoona, Wis./Altoona HS) won 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 4 spot. At No. 5 was Reed Kolles (Otsego, Minn./Rogers HS) with a convincing 6-0, 6-1 defeat over his opponent, and finally in the No. 6 spot played Reid Peterson (Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) who won 6-0, 6-1 as well.

The Saints (4-8, 3-0 UMAC) will hit the courts this week on Tuesday at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for a non-conference matchup with the Blugolds. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
