csssaints.com)- The St. Scholastica men's tennis team was shutout 9-0 by University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire at the Eau Claire YMCA Tennis Center on Tuesday.
Doubles
Both the No. 1 team and the No. 2 team lost by final scores of 8-5, and the No. 3 team was defeated by an 8-2 margin.
Singles
The Saints had a harder time in singles matches. The No. 1 spot,
Serhii Tykhonenko (Kiev, Ukraine/Lyceum #100 "Podil"), lost the first set 6-0, and was almost able to push the match into a victory seizing third set, but lost the second set 7-5.
From there, the No. 2 singles match was lost by the Saints 6-4, 6-4. UWEC won the No. 3 game 6-1, 6-1. Both the No. 4 game and the No. 6 game were won by Eau Claire 6-1, 6-2. And the No. 5 seeded Saint lost his match 6-0, 6-1.
