DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica baseball team went out of conference to face Saint John's University on Sunday at Wade Stadium and fell by a score of 24-4.

The Action
After Isaac Rocha (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) struck out two Johnnies (24-5) in the top of the first, the Saints would get a two-out bases loaded walk by Conor Wollenzien (North Mankato, Minn./Mankato West HS) to force in Joey Zwak (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS). Cole Tyman (Elk Mound, Wis./Elk Mound HS) followed with a RBI single to bring in Aaron Weber (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Pierz HS), but the Saints would be put out on the base paths during the play to end the inning. However, CSS did lead 2-0.

The first four batters reached base for Saint John's in the second, which quickly tied the game at 2-2. The Johnnies added three more runs in the inning to make it 5-2.

Weber led off the bottom of the third with a triple. He later scored on a Steven Neutzling (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral) RBI ground out to cut the lead to 5-3.

From there it was all Saint John's, scoring the next 19 runs, including six in the fifth inning and eight in the top of the ninth. Drew Sathrum (Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) had a RBI late to make the final 24-4.

Weber was 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Saints. Dominick Schleper was 5-for-5 with two RBIs for the Johnnies. Wyatt Ulrich drove in five runs and scored four times.
