csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team will be playing for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) regular season title this weekend, beginning with rival University of Northwestern (Minn.) on Friday and then bridge rival University of Wisconsin-Superior on Sunday.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints defeated North Central University (Minn.) 9-0 last Friday then dropped its first individual conference matches of the season in a 6-3 victory over Martin Luther College on Saturday.
-With the automatic qualifier now at stake, the higher-seeded team will host each round of the conference tournament.
-The Saints will likely have to win both matches this weekend, to secure home court for at least the UMAC Tournament semifinals.
-CSS and Northwestern shared the UMAC regular season title last season.
-The teams have shared the title twice and each won once in the last four seasons.
-Senior
Sarah Coryell (Golden Valley, Minn./Armstrong HS) has won 10 straight singles matches and is 14-1 on the year.
-Coryell is four total wins shy (singles/doubles) of becoming the sixth Saint to record at least 100 total wins in a career.
-With two more doubles wins,
Alexia Brascugli (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) can move into eighth on the career wins list.
-She is also one doubles win shy at the No. 3 spot to tie the most at that position in program history.
What You Need to Know about Northwestern:
-The Eagles will enter Friday's match with an 11-9 overall record and 4-0 in conference play.
-Like the Saints, Northwestern also made the NCAA Division III Tournament last season.
-Based on common conference opponents, both teams swept Bethany Lutheran College and the University of Minnesota Morris; UNW beat Martin Luther 8-1, while CSS won over MLC 6-3.
-Brooke Lapinski has 10 wins at the No. 1 singles spot.
-Lapinski is a three-time all-conference selection.
-Nikki Edin Paskewitz has 10 wins at the No. 2 singles position.
-Lapinski and Edin Paskewitz have teamed for eight wins at the No.1 doubles spot.
-The No. 2 team of Emily Knight and Shawna Spears also has seven wins.
-The Eagles are 58-56 in singles and 33-24 in doubles.
