MANKATO, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team finally was able to compete outdoors on Wednesday at the Maverick Winter Invitational, hosted by Minnesota State.
Schedule Changes
The Saints were originally scheduled to compete in the Lee Krough Invitational at Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday, but the weather forecast canceled that meet. So Minnesota State decided to put a meet together midweek so teams could get a chance to compete and the Saints jumped at the opportunity.
Hovland Wins 1500
Casey Hovland (North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS) began the outdoor season where she left off in the indoor season, by winning the 1500m run in a time of 4:47.82. That is only two seconds off her program record time she set at the end of the 2016 season.
