DULUTH, Minn. (
csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica men's tennis team dominated Crown College 9-0 Saturday afternoon at the Duluth Indoor Sports Center. This is the first meeting between the two programs.
Doubles
The Saints won all three doubles matches, and swept one. The No. 1 team,
Serhii Tykhonenko (Kiev, Ukraine/Lyceum #100 "Podil") and
Trace Combs (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS), won by a score of 8-2.
Connor Croft (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) and
Jake Jolowsky (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS), the No. 2 team, won their doubles match with a final score of 8-2.
At No. 3,
Elliot Kazlauskas (New Prague, Minn./New Prague HS) and
Reid Peterson (Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) swept 8-0.
Singles
The Saints also won six out of six singles matches, sweeping two.
Elliot Schneider (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) (No. 1) and No. 5
Caleb Thill (Altoona, Wis./Altoona HS) both defeated their opponents 6-0, 6-0. No. 2 Combs and No. 4
Jason Kent (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Altoona (Wis.) HS) both also had matching scores, winning 6-2, 6-1.
At No. 3,
Jack Kearney (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) beat out his Crown opponent 6-1, 6-1. And in the No. 6 spot
Reed Kolles (Otsego, Minn./Rogers HS) won his first collegiate singles match 6-0, 6-1.

The Saints (2-7, 1-0 UMAC) travel to Glendale, Wisconsin to face Concordia University Wisconsin. Match time is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday.
