RHINELANDER, Wis. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's nordic ski team had a pair competitors post top-10 finishes on Saturday to place third as a team in the 10km classic race of the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Championships at the CAVOC Trails.
Top Performances
Freshman
Tamer Mische-Richter (Bloomington, Minn./John F. Kennedy HS) bounced back from last weekend's performance to match a season-best finish of fourth with a time of 28:24. He also finished fourth in the 15km classic race at the CAVOC Trails a couple of weeks ago. Mische-Richter was the top non-Northern Michigan University finisher.
Sophomore
Jack Christianson (Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS) recorded his first career top-10 finish in a qualifying race, coming in eighth with a time of 29:11. Junior
Dan DeLestry (Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial HS) was the final Saint to score in 15
th place with a time of 29:48. DeLestry has scored in every qualifier that he has competed in this season.
Team Scores
Northern Michigan swept the top three spots to place first for the day with 111 points. Ian Torchia won the individual title with a time of 27:28.
Michigan Tech University was second with 81 points. The Saints were third with 75 points. The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay was fourth with 61 points. St. Olaf College was fifth with 51 points.
