Nolan Ross (Fort Frances, Ontario/Fort Frances HS (Fort Frances-SIJHL)) was credited with the assist. UWS responded just 16 seconds later to tie the game at 1-1.

The Saints regained their lead with 6:37 to go thanks to a power-play goal by Cole Golka (Ardrossan, Alberta/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (Dryden Ice Dogs-SIJHL)), which was assisted by Davis Ross (Fort Frances, Ontario/Fort Frances HS (Fort Frances-SIJHL)) and Parker Mismash (Edina, Minn./Edina HS (Minnesota Magicians-NAHL)). And just over two minutes later, another goal by Star increased CSS lead to 3-1.
