DE PERE, Wis. (csssaints.com) – Alma College (Mich.) led for over 38 minutes and never trailed to defeat the St. Scholastica men's basketball team 71-64 on Saturday to wrap up play at the Nicolet National Bank Holiday Tournament, hosted by St. Norbert College (Wis.).

How it Happened
The Scots (1-10) jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but freshman Quinn Fischer (Esko, Minn./Esko HS) scored St. Scholastica's first seven points to make it a one-point game. Alma then scored six straight points to extend the lead back to seven and later in the half used a 7-0 to run to make it an 11-point game. The Saints trailed at the half 41-32. The Scots scored 19 points off of 12 CSS turnovers in the half.

Like on Friday, the Saints chipped away at the Alma lead in the second half and a Collin Anderson (Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) 3-pointer tied the game at 51-51 with less than 10 minutes remaining. However, the Scots regained the lead and extended it to seven with five minutes left.

St. Scholastica answered with a 7-0 run with four points coming from Fischer to tie it again at 60-60 with 3:30 remaining. Unfortunately, the Saints made only one more field goal the rest of the way as Alma scored seven straight points and held off the Saints 71-64.
