Book Bratbak Leads Men’s Skiers in Houghton

HOUGHTON, Mich. (csssaints.com) – Freshman Emil Book Bratbak (Lillehammer, Norway/Lillehammer) led the St. Scholastica men's nordic ski team with an eighth-place finish on Saturday in the 10km classic of the Michigan Tech University Junior National Qualifier.
 
Top Performances
The Saints had 12 racers competing on Saturday. Book Bratbak led the team with an eighth-place finish in a time of 27:27. Sophomore Tamer Mische-Richter (Bloomington, Minn./John F. Kennedy HS) was 20th in a time of 28:48. Right behind him was another freshman in Hannes Stenstrom (Are, Sweden/Are Skidgymnasium) in 21st, posting a time of 28:55.
 
Another freshman Samuel Olson (Duluth, Minn./Homeschooled) posted a top-30 finish in 27th with a time of 29:20. Sophomore Ryan Steger (Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) was 33rd and freshman Nick Matelich (Bozeman, Mont./Bozeman HS (Montana State)) was 37th.
 
Northern Michigan University swept the top five spots, led by Kjetil Baanerud with a time of 26:25.

Sunday's action will feature the 10km freestyle races beginning at 10 a.m. (ET).
