SUPERIOR, Wis. (
csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica men's soccer team was unable to overcome a slow start against University of Wisconsin-Superior Monday night, losing 4-1.
How it Happened
In the first half, the Yellowjackets were in control, outshooting CSS 12-6. Superior scored first, sinking the ball into the left corner of the net to take an early 1-0 lead in the 27
th minute.
With 45 seconds left in the half, the 'jackets would score again off of a chip shot, extending their lead to 2-0 at halftime.
Five minutes into the second half, the Saints broke through.
Jordan Finneran (Newmarket, England/Cambridge Regional College) assisted to
Darby Henderson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) for a header goal, cutting into the UWS lead. Down by a goal, the Saints were unable to keep the momentum up from there.
The Yellowjackets scored twice in this half, the first coming in the 62
nd minute. The final tally came in the 71
st minute to make the final score 4-1.

Malcolm Lumsden (Kingston, Jamaica/Kingston College (Lake Superior College)) recorded five shots, leading the Saints.
CSS goalkeeper
Corey Bulheller (Middleton, England/Highfields Secondary School (Bacone)) stopped eight of the 12 shots he faced. 'Jackets goalkeeper Dalton VanKaenel saved four of five shots on goal.
